SJRRP Allocations and Default Flow Schedule

Flow Scheduling

The amount of water available for the SJRRP, the Restoration Allocation, depends upon the amount of runoff in the San Joaquin River watershed above Friant Dam. Using several water supply forecasts for the Friant Division of the Central Valley Project, the SJRRP estimates the total unimpaired inflow below Friant Dam to determine an allocation. The Restoration Administrator uses the Restoration Allocation to make recommendations on the timing of releases based on river conditions and the specific goals and objectives at that time. Prior to an increase in flow rates, the SJRRP analyzes the likely effects on the river and surrounding lands and documents the results with a Flow Bench Evaluation. Following an affirmative evaluation, the SJRRP issues a notification and changes the releases.

SJRRP Allocations

The SJRRP develops Allocations and Default Flow Schedules for submittal to the Restoration Administrator to identify the annual volume of Restoration Flows available. Current and previous year allocations are available below.

Restoration Administrator Flow Recommendations

The Restoration Administrator recommends a Flow Schedule in response to the provided SJRRP allocation, which reflects current conditions and supports data collection goals and objectives. Current and previous year RA Recommendations are available below.
