Building fish passage projects also requires improving water user infrastructure and is key to meeting the goals of the Settlement. Find out about the Program’s key infrastructure projects below.

Arroyo Canal Fish Screen and Sack Dam 
Bypass Project

The first major construction project for the Program, slated to begin construction in Fall 2025, will provide critical fish passage in the river mainsteam and significant water diversion benefits for area water users.

The largest of the Program's fish passage projects.

This project allows water users to take water from the southern terminus of the Friant-Kern Canal for use by Friant Division Contractors.
Canal Capacity
Working to restore and maintain canal capacity is integral to California's water system health and part of the Program's Water Management Goal.
